Hi, I am Mike, a music collector for over 30 years now. I try, to the best of my ability to describe as accurately and as honesty as I can all items I offer for sale with all the relevant information I can think of to help any interested collector. You may notice I do not flood my Ebay site with large numbers of albums at one time: time does not allow it as I Play-Grade every record I offer (on a Rega 3 deck with Ortofon cartridge) - visuals alone do not always tell a true or full story - I will mention any defects or flaws no matter how small that I notice to be fair as possible to any interested collector. Every record I offer, whether it be a common or rare item deserves the same treatment as far as I am concerned and will be treated with the same respect. All the pictures I use for your guidance are taken with my digital camera or scanned - they are NOT improved, cleaned-up or made better looking than they are with camera trickery or enhancing with digital programmes. Cat Number: 7-63209 Mono.

Label and Condition: Blue Horizon, stunning clean rough textured examples that show only very light spindle traces, barely any on side one at all. Certainly two of the finest I have seen for this very famous blues label. (please see scans for all details, do labels come much better?).

Rarity Factor: Very scarce, in this condition even more so.

Matrix Nos: M7 63209 A1 and B1 (the M denoting Mono on Blue Horizon albums)

Album Information: For me Chicken Shack’s best album, marginally better than the famous debut 40 Blue Fingers…. Featuring the wonderful Christine Perfect, later McVie, of Fleetwood Mac fame, on vocals, this wonderful record has a superb cover, especially the centrefold (see pictures) and is a mono copy. The record, on the original highly collectable Blue Horizonal label is magnificent and plays beautifully. A connoisseur’s copy. Always remembered this one for Stan Webb’s humourous dialogue and impersonations of famous stars of the time between the albums’ tracks (John Peel, Hughe Green, Max Wall, Kenneth Williams, Chris Wood, Harold Wilson, Steptoe and Son and that of a Radio 5 announcer(?).

Cover Condition and Details: Mint(-), gatefold, laminated front and back. A magnificent and stunning cover for this wonderful record. The child on the bench sitting next to the skeleton is strangely bizarre, but the centrefold has lovely artwork and a stunning picture of Miss Perfect (a lady with a very apt name).

Cover Lamination: Both sides laminate is superb: very strong with no lifting, peeling or dry areas (blistering). Very shiny and with hardly any surface marks or nasty indents. Any creasing is only very light and minimal - absolute top quality here.

Cover Front: Very attractive with little wear at all. Very clean with deep rich colour and no rubbing. A faint light crease near the left edge, any others are very light indeed and hardly notice at all. This is a lovely front cover.

Cover Back: Close to perfect and even better than the front - stunning.

Cover Gatefold Inner: Truly gorgeous and as perfect as you will find.

Cover Edges: Top and bottom are absolutely perfect and still laminated, the entry edges are close to this too, just a minute ruffle in the centre (about as minor as it gets). The thick spine is stunning as new. All its text is pristine under uncracked laminate. Cornerwear is almost non-existent too, all still square and very solid. This again is connoisseur quality and finding a better example of this original cover will prove nearly impossible.

Vinyl Condition: Excellent+, clean and shiny and pressed on solid vinyl. Little more than a few light surface marks/hairlines. No sound at all - all superficial and very light. This mono copy plays superbly with great clarity and few unwanted sounds. No pops or ticks and all frequencies have no distortion or sound degrading - always a massive bonus for a mono record. As I have always stated even modest plays for these on heavy armed decks of the 60s could ruin these fragile records - the groove walls could often be stripped very quickly making future playback noisy and distorted. Well no evidence of this on this fine copy. Sound quality is detailed and dynamic - always the wonderful thing about mono records. They were a gateway into the recording studio. Finding truly nice copies is always a pleasure - there are just so many poor and inferior copies offered. This copy will please most collectors. Record comes in its original Patent Applied For inner, still white and solid and unsplit (EX+).

Final Summary: A near classic blues album - a rare one with more than a hint of humour, Mr Webb is a cheaky chappie. Any album featuring Christine Perfect is always worth owning - she again lives up to her former name with more flawless vocals on this great album. I dont claim to be a blues connoisseur myself, but this album is truly special.

USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and other Far Eastern countries etc: £5.50. This is covered up to £28 (43 US Dollars) insurance and would be sent 1st-class airmail. Please note I do not profit on postage (my packing standards are high and the package weighs a little more).

Extra insurance is available for non-UK items but bear in mind I have to state the true value of the item on the parcel and customs would be aware and you may well get charged import duties.

Mailing Details: All records are sent in plastic covers with the record taken out of the sleeve and sent in professional mailers with a minimum of TWO stiffners for extra protection. More expensive items are also inserted into a de-luxe heavy duty padded bag AS WELL to give that extra protection and three or four stiffners. I truly want ALL my items to arrive to their destination in the same condition they leave me.
