For sale - from my personal collection - the following LP by CHRIS ANDREWS (legendary British beat pop-rock singer-songwriter born 1942, Christopher Frederick Andrews), titled:
"CHRIS ANDREWS"
original 1975 pressing on Bellaphon Records, catalog no. 220 07 054, STEREO, made in WEST GERMANY. Silver print on maroon label. Original plastic and paper inner sleeve.
CONDITION:
- front cover is close to NM (having a few tiny creases by the upper edge and spine; no wear ring; no shelf wear; no cutouts on cover)
- back cover is MINT
- vinyl is MINT side one and close to NM side two (having a few tiny superficial surface marks, hardly visible, with no effect on the sound)
Record was cleaned and tested, playing MINT.
PERSONNEL: Chris Andrews (vocals) with his band.
Singer with DEBUT SOLO SINGLE "YESTERDAY MAN" and INTERNATIONAL HIT issued in 1965. Still active (mainly as songwriter and producer).
MUSIC & COMMENTS: classic British beat fused with pop-rock elements. Occasional calypso-reggae influences are present on some songs. 14 tracks, featuring singer's most known songs issued between 1965 to 1974, as follows: YESTERDAY MAN (1965; the most interesting, original and special beat-pop-rock ever written), To whom it may concern (1966), Pretty Belinda (1968), Carol O.K. (1969), Yoyo (1970), Michigan River (1971), Brown eyes (1971), Sugar Daddy (1972), I love ya (1973), Do you wanna love me (1974). All songs composed by Chris Andrews. Original recordings. Superb music from the most special, interesting and acclaimed singer-songwriter of beat music from the history. Album contains gems of British beat-pop-rock music with no equal until present time. Very rare LP, almost impossible to be found again. The only Bellaphon copy I've ever seen of this spectacular Chris Andrews anthology of his finest tracks ever. Highly recommended!
