Description

This is an auction for a rare LP by Colosseum, Valentine Suite.

This was released by Vertigo Records in 1969 and has catalogue number VO1. This is the 1st press with a gatefold sleeve and swirl label. Please check the pictures for clarification.

Matrix Numbers- 886 775 1Y 886775 2Y

Condition: The gatefold sleeve has light buffing to the top and bottom edge and corners and a few very discreet discolour marks. Spine fine, no tears, bends or creases, centre ex and graded at a strict VG+.

This comes with its original Vertigo swirl patent inner sleeve which has a little yellowing in places, no edge splits.

This does not include an inner bag which this was originally released with.

Labels: both labels are clean and look near new, under closer examination some spider spindle trails can be seen on each side. The centre hole is fine and shows little to no signs of wear.

Vinyl- Both sides retain there near new shine, under closer examination a few light scratches and a few dust/dirt marks can be seen.

I played through this and was pleased to find that the above mentioned scratches and dust/dirt patches or just about non-audible. I did notice some crackles in between two tracks but otherwise it sounded fine with only the very occasional crackle heard. On track one of side one I thought I detected some fading in and out but after playing through the LP I think this is probably the music itself as it is quite psyche in places. Anyway you Colosseum fans will no doubt no the answer to that, but best mentioned in case. The music itself plays with no major deterioation in sound quality with quiet breaks and entries, except where mentioned above.

This one is graded at a strict VG, down-graded for the possible fading and the odd surface noise, this is certainly not over played showing not to many spindle marks and is a worthy addition to any collection.
