The very first ever pressing of the very first ever release on the UK Vertigo Swirl label!!
This is the very rare original 1969 Ist ever UK Pressing of `Valentyne Suite` by Colosseum on the UK Spiral Swirl Vertigo Label. What makes this copy so rare is that it is not only the first record issued on the Spiral label but it is also the very 1st ever pressing of this album. The gatefold sleeve includes “A Philips Record Product” printed on the inner of the gatefold and also on the record label (only the first pressing had the Phillips text, all later pressings omitted this), it also has the Large Vertigo swirl on the B-side. Vinyl (EX) Plays Great with no sticks or jumps etc, even under bright halogen lights I can only see light sleeve removal scuffs, no feelable scratches!
Inner Sleeve comes with the original 1969 Vertigo Swirl `Made In England` with cellophane inner, it has the tracks/times written on by the original owner showing it is all part of the original first issue package. I have placed the record in a new lined inner sleeve for protection
Labels - Lovely Clean Swirl labels (no pen marks etc) with `A Phillips Record Product` text, under bright light I can see some visible spindle lines which show some play
Sleeve (VG) - Original 1st issue `Marcus Keef` matt finish gatefold, has `A Phillips Record Product` text on inner gatefold (showing this to be a first issue sleeve), has some edge and spine wear, it has a scuff on the front underneath the name Colosseum, however overall the cover is in great shape and doesn`t suffer from the usual bad ringwear! I use professionally made packers with card stiffeners & Bubble Wrap The vinyl record will be removed from the album cover for transit purposes and plus both placed in a plastic sleeve

Gradings: I use the standard UK gradings as set out in UK Record Collector Magazine below:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Near Mint, EX+, VG+ etc are acceptable additions to help `fine tune` descriptions for the buyer
