Description
Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years, long after records were replaced by reels, cassettes and CDs. While not all the items I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE & ARTIST: "Blues by Basie" - by William "Count" Basie on the Columbia Records label (C-101), in Near Mint condition, released in 1947.
CONDITION OF JACKET: Excellent, with very light overall wear; actually very close to Near Mint - (Please see photos of actual item offered).
CONDITION OF DISC(S) - Near Mint, with very few marks of any kind. Maroon/Gold Columbia label (Please See Photos).
SPECIAL FEATURES: This wonderful record "album" (from the days when a record album was similar to a photo album, including several records and often other illustrations) is part of Columbia Records early "Jazz Album" series, issued just before their introduction of the new "LP" 33 rpm records. Featuring Basie's All American Rhythm Section of Jo Jones, Freddie Green and Walter Page, this is an absolute classic! Please don't miss this amazing album.
GUARANTEE: As with all of our products, this item is guaranteed to be exactly as described or we will cheerfully return your payment. Thanks.
TRACKS: A Sugar Blues B Bugle Blues C Royal Garden Blues D How Long Blues E St. Louis Blues F Cafe Society Blues G Farewell Blues H Way Back Blues
OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any record and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the vinyl has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++/EX (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction; jacket may be lightly worn, slightly dinged, even very lightly split, but NEVER trashed); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
Thanks! If you have further questions about condition or content, please don't hesitate to ask. You may bid with unworried confidence. Our sales history is your assurance of absolute integrity. Thank you and good luck
