Description

An original 1st press on POLYDOR from 1968 in the UK market. be careful with this release - there were loads of copies made in 68/68/70...and they tend to look quite similar! So make sure that someone justifies WHY it is a 1st if that's what they claim it is!! What is immediately evident from the '68 copies is they should be very heavy copies...period. If they aren't it is likely they date from later. Another quite obvious trait of the early copies is TEXTURED labels...if they are smooth and shiny...they are definitely from later! Matrix A2/B1/A1/B1. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original E J day gatefold cover with foil surfacing. The original inners too. And one is dated to MAY-1968....which is two months prior to release in the UK. So this is really starting to help validate early genuine 1st pressing. 100% genuine 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg) A great copy and has only seen light to medium use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or nasty looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in one track per disc. Intros and inbetweens are nice quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Quiet background mostly. In a couple of the fussy numbers expect a few crackles - i.e. they won't be fully clean. E.g. Passing The Time. Still perfectly enjoyable - just keep your expectations in check at these points. Traintime - is the only track which is slightly sub-par.. again plays fine but expect the odd crackle here and there as it chugs along....That's my only criticism really. . .
Cover (Vg) The front is looking nice with some of the usual surface wear that s hard to avoid. The rear exhibits wear as is pretty common - still pretty tidy. . Firm openings. Spine 70% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A really nice looking original example. 
Inner (Vg) Aged and bag missing.
