Description
From a recently purchased lot, of well taken-care-of albums, comes this fantastic beauty of an EP, by Charles Mingus.
Debut EP series (7 inch EP) EP 450 Charles Mingus Octet. Personnel is as follows: Ernie Royal (tp) Willie Dennis (tb) Eddie Caine (as) Teo Macero (ts) Danny Bank (bars) John Lewis (p) Jackson Wiley (cello) Charles Mingus (b, arr) Kenny Clarke (d) Janet Thurlow (vo -3,4) Spaulding Givens (arr) Paul Bley (cond) Recorded in NYC, October 28, 1953 Side A- 1.Pink Topsy 2.Miss Bliss Side B- 3.Blue Tide 4.Eclipse
The vinyl itself is a close as you can get to being considered "Near Mint," and the only flaw on the sleeve, which is incredible itself, is that the spine is starting to spilt. The record could be forced all the way through, but at this point, it is not completely torn from top to bottom, and the record will rest inside snugly if slipped in.
Absolutely fantastic.
Please contact me with any questions before bidding. I have set a reasonable reserve, and part with this record reluctantly. The other jazz 7" records I'm listing at this time, are all from the same lot. Please give them a look as well. Thank you, and good luck bidding.
