Description
Coleman Hawkins Eddie Lockjaw Davis Nighthawk Prestige Swingville 2016 MONO RVG deep groove MONO first press with an early recording by Bass legend Ron Carter and also has Tommy Flanagan and Gus Johnson. Ron Carter told me himself he remembers how this date went down, he was hone one day and he heard a horn outside his window, upon looking, a debonair Coleman Hawkins got out of a black Crysler and called up to him and said "young man, c'mon down we have a record date today in New Jersey (Rudy Van Gelder's studio). He had never met Hawkins prior to this and no rehearsals or anything, just showed up at the studio, ran everything down and this classic 1961 recording (one of Ron's favorites) was the result. Clean VG++ LP and a VG+ cover. Superb LP and well worth many bids. See all the photos above. Hard to find and very classic vintage recording. This is a original mono pressing deep groove RVG stamped first pressing vintage recording. Please bid accordingly, this LP is VERY hard to find and if reserve is not met, it will be gifted to Mr. Carter, since I work for him anyway.
