Artist Name: Coloseum Title: Valentyne Suite Cat number: VO1 Country Of Origin: UK Label: Vertigo Matrix: 886775 1 Y * 1 420 11 1 / 886775 2*Y * 1 420 11 1 Comments: This is a 1st pressing with the "Philips Credit" of the first Vertigo release issued in 1969. It's not Mint, but is no means trashed! A great playable copy that still has plenty of enjoyment left. Like all my records, It has been cleaned on a record cleaner to optimise the audio quality and then play graded on an audiophile deck to the UK Rare Record Collector Guide. Please read the listing fully and study all the pictures before placing a bid!
Cover Condition: The cover is still presentable with only light wear on the top and bottom seams, with approx 50% of the original colour still present.                             The spine edge is largely untouched with only real noticeable wear to the top and bottom corners (Top being the worst with approx 7mm of colour missing), all title lettering is present. The opening edges of this thick card cover are very straight, with only the lightest touch of feathering starting.                            There is a small sticker tear to the top right hand corner of the front cover, but apart from this, the front cover looks nice with no signs of ring wear. The rear of the cover is in virtually the same as the front, but has the very lightest signs of ring wear starting, at the very bottom of the cover only. There is also a couple of "impression scratches" that can only be seen if the cover is tilted into light.                            The inside of the gatefold cover is beautiful and has hardly been touched by the looks of it.
Overall I would grade the cover to be in a Very Good Plus (VG+) condition.
Record Condition: Visually under normal day light it shows no marks at all, but viewed under a Halogen lamp, it shows quite a few light hairline marks and what looks like brush marks from bad cleaning practices? There are no nasty heavy scratch marks visible. Both of the record labels are fairly clean with no unwanted writing and with a few spindle marks all directed at the hole, showing that it has been played but not "hammered".

Upon play testing this album, side 1 plays very well with near perfect audio. There is great separation within the soundscapes and plays loud and clear, with just the slightest of very low level surface noise which is hardly heard between tracks and quite sections!
Overall I would grade side 1 (Only) as Excellent Minus (EX-) condition.                                  Side 2 has a slight intermittent problem on the 1st track and first half of the 2nd track. To me, it sounds like there is a very slight touch of distortion to the left channel only, and can only be heard when the soundscape is at high volume. The second half of track 2 and the rest of the album appears to be unaffected, leaving the remaining audio quality must the same as side 1.
Overall I would grade side 2 (Only) as Very Good (VG) condition. Strictly graded, taking into account the problem with the 1st and 2nd track.

Extras: A swirl inner sleeve is present to "complete the set". It has the polylining fully attached and no splits, but does have some pen writing in one corner. It's not the original as it has a date stamp of "1/0470" present.
