Description
Impulse Stereo A-9124 recorded May 28, 1966. John Coltrane-tenor & soprano saxophones, bass clarinet; Alice Coltrane-piano; Pharoah Sanders-tenor sax, flute; Jimmy Garrison-bass; Rashied Ali-drums. There are only 2 long songs on this album: "Naima" and "My Favorite Things", with wide-open improvisations and interplay. This is an early issue of this album with the disc label of orange, black & white with the word "impulse!" printed 4 times on the black rim of the label, alternating with i! in white boxes, with the titles and other info in the orange center.
This album is in excellent condition, with very little surface noise. The cover is in very good condition with no edge splits and the spine intact. There are a couple of blisters in the cellophane overlay, and the spine is not smooth, because on the inside, the liner notes extend into the fold area, and in order to read the far-right edge of Nat Hentoff's notes, one has to straighten the fold on the inside....but the spine's intact with the title clearly visible on the wide orange edge. There is slight wear at the tips of all the corners. This album still has its original inner sleeve, with Impulse catalog items advertised on it.
