Description
Folk-Lyric Records 111, "Country Negro Jam Sessions" with Butch Cage, Willie B. Thomas, Smoky Babe, Robert Pete Williams, Clarence and Cornelius Edwards, Robert Welch, Sally Dotson and others, from 1961 or 1962. Original DG black-label vinyl plays at NM with virtually no background sound. The jacket has generally strong seams but has repairable splits of 3" (7 cm) on top and 1" (3 cm) on the bottom at opening. Jacket has light corner wear, shows no ringwear, and is generally clean. There is "Review Copy" written at upper left (see scan). Original liner notes booklet - really only sheets of paper printed double-sided and joined with a piece of tape - is included and in good condition with no writing. These informal sessions were done in various places in Louisiana. Tracks are "44 Blues", "Mississippi Heavy Water Blues", "Smokes Like Lightnin'", "Who Broke the Lock", "You Don't Love Me Baby", "It's the Sign of the Judgment", "Fox Hunt", "Your Dice Won't Pass", "Jelly Roll", "I've Got Religion", "Going Downtown Boogie", "Stock o' Dollars", Brown Skin Woman", and "I Won't Be Your Lowdown Dog No More". Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
