Description

Beautifully shiny copy of the first recording to feature Pat Benatar, Coxon's Army on the Trace Label, released in the mid 70's. As the story goes, and you probably already know, before she struck it big with a major label recording contract Pat got her start as a singer for Phil Coxon's band which was the house band for the Sam Miller Exchange in Richmond,Va. This particular record was recorded live in one night and was to be a promotion for a television special that never took place. The first press of the lp is on the Sam Miller Exchange label, while this copy is on the Trace label. (Phil merely reused leftover jackets from the initial press and stuffed them with the Trace presses). Copies were distributed across the Richmond area records stores and for the most part did not sell. After Pat got signed to Chrysalis it is rumored she came back through town and swiped up the majority of the copies still sitting in the record stores and had them destroyed. As for this particular copy...

The Lp is a strong VG+ (Vinyl is beautiful and shiny but there a few slight scuffs on side a, none of which affect play. A very slight amount of surface noise can be heard of the last track of side a and side b has one or two slight scuffs, with no audible surface noise).

The jacket is also a strong VG+ (still in the shrink and looking ever so lovely. Three of the four corners show slight wear but everything else about the cover looks amazing!)
