Description

A 1st issue of Disraeli Gears on the Reaction label from late 1967. Matrix A1/B1. Ok, so there's a lot of voodoo talked on E-bay re the publishing credits etc etc on this title. Here's the deal - an A1/B1 Stereo cut is from winter 1967 - period! So, this copy would have been available for purchase whilst the title was still charting. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo front-laminated cover printed by Ernest J. Day patents pending. Importantly, 'Stereo' is mentioned on the rear over in the top-left and NOT in a white box in the top-right. Whilst this cover is not the very very 1st variation with a fully laminated cover - it would have been available during the chart run and therefore conforms to the definition of '1st issue'.
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely superb condition and has only seen the lightest use. Under close inspection we could only make out one very light mark - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is minimal. All we could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of spots [literally] the whole way through. A blindingly good rendition - quite possibly the best stereo copy I've auditioned.
Cover (Ex+) Wowzers! A real beauty and has clearly been looked after down the years. This cover is lovely and shiny with only one tiny crease! The rear exhibits almost no handling wear at all - very very unusual. Edge wear is very light and only vaguely evident on the spine. The text on the spine is only partially visible. Overall the cover still retains great rigidity. A really superbly preserved specimen.
