Now Is The Happiest Time Of Your Life
.
TAPIOCA Records TP 10017
Original 1977 issue Stereo LP
HAND SIGNED by DAEVID ALLEN
MADE in FRANCE

VINYL is EX+
Beautiful High Gloss vinyl, very close to Near Mint with only an inaudible faint, smaller-than-pea size surface scuff and on other side a tiny, tiny pressing dot that makes one quiet bump right at beginning of 'Deya Goddess' on Side 2 - otherwise record plays NM throughout - very clear, warm and crisp sound. Labels are superb both sides.
.
COVER is VG+
Coated front / matte back cover is extremely bright and clean with no wear or soil; small green circle sticker, back, u.r. corner. one (l.r.) corner crease, and back (l.l.) has a tiny printer flaw (1/2 mm x 3 mm) spot of tan under-surface shows through). 3 centimeter 'push' break at center of spine (not split). Seams and spine are otherwise completely intact with no wear or splits. Sharp corners and straight edges all around.

STRICT CONSERVATIVE GOLDMINE GRADING
NM / EX(VG++) / VG+ / VG

HAND-SIGNED by DAEVID ALLEN on Back Cover

Possibly DAEVID's very best solo album

This LP is simply beautiful all the way through with an exceptional, dreamy-Hippie Higher Consciousness throughout all the songs, that are easily among his most solid compositions of his long storied career.

I got to see him perform, unannounced (...except he told me), at an after-concert party in Hollywood in 1980 - and to my delight he played most of the material from this album.
I already have my own signed copy - so this one goes out to the universe.

Recorded on TEAC 4-track at Bananamoon Observatory, Deya, Majorca, Spain.
Track B1 recorded at Deya Poets 1977 reading. The first part of track A3 is an excerpt of a speech on 'Planute Gong Mythology', recorded 1977 at ICA London
"Distribution Exclusive TAPIOCA 42 rue Brunel, 75017 Paris" on back, l.l. corner.
"ARTO PRINT Made in France" printed on back, l.r. edge.

MATRIX NUMBERS (etched)
SIDE ONE: TP 10017 A
SIDE TWO: TP 10017 B
*these numbers are particularly hard to see, but matrix hunters will find them.

One of several GONG and DAEVID ALLEN albums I am listing that Daevid Allen signed.
.
Most of these GONG / DAEVID ALLEN LPs were signed by Daevid Allen at his signing appearance at my record store in 1980 when I produced him in concert (Carmel California, Private invite-only gig) in a wonderful Dinner Theater - the house stage was already set for an ongoing Play as an eccentric English sitting room and was a spot-on backdrop, once Daevid had added his special touches and set pieces - during his 'DIVIDED ALIEN CLOCKWORKS' period. Some were signed after the gig; some signed the next morning (at Breakfast ...we took Daevid and his lady Maggie out to eat before he left town). a few were signed at the 'Manifestival of Progressive Rock" earlier that year in L.A.,or later that evening at a party in Hollywood where he played unannounced. This was when I initially suggested the Carmel Concert to him... My good friend Lance (and indeed my record store employee - and a dyed-in-the-wool GONG freak) was there at all times. Lance (former owner of all these LPs) put Daevid to the test with never-ending signing requests - and Daevid signed them all in different ways, sometimes with his various alter-egos - and eventually, he signed yet a 2nd copy of MAGICK BROTHER - as "EDITH SITWELL". Only then did Lance finally stop asking him to sign more LPs.

He signed this one: "for Lance  daevid Allen 1980" on back cover - in bold purple ink.

From an utterly vast and deep record collection, from my life-long best friend
who was a DJ at the Radio Station I co-founded in the 1970's - and who worked for me at my California record store in the '70s and '80s.
Sadly he has now finally left this mortal coil, bequeathing me his deep Vinyl Mine.
.
Several thousand records (mostly LP's, but also hundreds of 45's), several hundred collectible and Rare, Out of Print CDs and Box Sets,
plus posters and other memorabilia will all eventually be listed.

Truly a great (and enormous) collection!

* I reserve the right to cancel any bids by any international bidders with poor or very low feedback.

.

I do NOT EVER want to exclude all bidders from any particular country, even though a few specific countries are responsible for almost all spurious "not received" or "not as described" claims over the years. This evolves... for instance in France, buyers from Ile de France area seem, more and more, to be very prone to make a false claim. (one of my earliest, very best customers was from Ile de France but moved to Belgium some years back) ...so even there, I hate to exclude ALL buyers from there; however I cannot possibly afford to be scammed due to the unlucky result of a winning bidder being a bad actor. IF you are from that area and want to bid/buy, simply contact me first and give me good reason to trust you.

Also it seems to be the fun game recently for some in Germany, Spain and Italy to buy far more than the collector can afford and make false claims on many of them. Again I will need to know you can be trusted. Many, many great buyers in all those countries, but plenty of trouble comes from them as well. Brazil has terrible post/mail problems. Italy has long Customs hold times. In NONE of those cases is it my fault and I will not lose out because of other countries' problems beyond my control. Occasional problems from China and Russia -I reserve the right to cancel a sale or bids from any buyer, case-by-case if I note problematic behavior or red flags.

Having said that, I will not ever cancel any bidders with solid, good reputations and feedback.

I sell regularly to all those countries (though Ile de France bidders will definitely need to contact me FIRST before bidding).

I wish there was no need for this caution, but I must and I do protect myself.

If you are honest, responsible and genuine, we will never have a problem and you may bid with absolutely no worries.
