This is the vastly superior 'sax version' of 'John, I'm only Dancing'.
Although this has the same catalogue number as the original version and shows the same 1972 publishing date, this version was recorded during the Aladdin Sane sessions and released in April 1973. This version features saxophone and more-prominent electric guitar and is widely considered to be a much better version than the original.
The disc shows very few signs of play: there is one superficial surface line (totally inaudible) near the start of the B side, but I didn't see anything else, and the spindle holes show minimal-or-no evidence of the record having been played.
I have played both sides in full and it it sounds fantastic with just the slightest hint of background noise in the run-ins and run-outs but nothing at all to detract from the music. Both tracks sound superb and I would play-grade both sides as an EASY Excellent (Ex), or better. For the sake of completeness I would mention that when the record was rotating on the turntable I could see that it isn't perfectly flat, but this is barely noticeable and has absolute no impact on play or sound, and is only mentioned here for total accuracy - I think that most people would probably not even notice it.
