Description

For sale is a 100% Original German pressing of  David Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World LP on the Mercury Records label with the wonderful and unique fold out, 'Round Cover'.  This is arguably rarer than the UK Drag Cover original issue but due to the iconic Apart from the unusual cover, the other quirk with this version of this album is, after the last track, Supermen, there is a very short reprise of Saviour Machine. This appears to be a mastering error and is unique to this version. I would strictly grade the vinyl as Vg++ and the main Round sleeve as Vg++ and inner lyric sleeve as Vg. The vinyl has retained its original glossy sheen and looks nice with some minor hairline marks. The labels are in excellent condition with a straight line, only visible in a certain light, on one side, which maybe a spindle mark and a very small roundish mark, again only visible in a certain light on the other. This doesn't look like a sticker mark. The fantastic fold-out sleeve has some signs of age and wear where you would expect to find it on this complex sleeve. For example where the folds form corners but, on this copy there are no holes at those points. There is very minimal edge wear all round with no splits and a very nice complete and legible spine. The name 'Juelie' (previous owner?) has been written on the top (the silly cow!), left-hand corner of the rear of the sleeve when folded, which is the only real blemish of this otherwise, lovely condition sleeve. Please see photos for detail of areas of wear and written name. The inner, lyric sleeve has visible, handling creases but otherwise is intact with no splits. Again, please see photos. This is possibly the nicest copy that I have come across. The folding nature of this sleeve usually results in copies becoming ragged and very worn, so this is a refreshing example. I am more than happy to answer any questions and provide more photos where possible.

This is a nice example and you wouldn't need to upgrade if you win it.  

Both sides have machine stamped matrix numbers as follows:

·     A side matrix:  10  AA 6338041   1Y  320  (Further round the runout it has stamped what looks like an upper case letter B on it's side)      

     B side matrix:  10  AA 6338041   2Y  320  (Further round the runout it has stamped A and 1 on their side with the A above the 1 and further                                                                          round still it has stamped the number 1 on it's own but this time upright)
