A Super-rare original First press (var 2) release of this classic Bowie LP with the original UK non-Mainman Gem production credit sleeve and semi glossy label and a very rare Near Mint original lyric / photos inner
Matrices 1 E / 2 E stamped - B5L / A8AB etched
Vinyl is VG+ very few plays - beautiful glossy sheen with a few light non-sounding scuffs - Delivers an astoundingly beautiful deep, heavy and detailed First Press audio experience
This is definitely the pressing to own for collectors and audiophiles and this copy ticks ALL the original First Press boxes!
Cover is a solid VG possibly better bar a few scuffs and corner / edge dings and a sticker removal mark top left
Perfect fully-legible spine. The bottom seam has come a bit unglued but NOT split
Lyric / Photo inner is in incredible Near Mint condition and has NEVER been used to house the vinyl
Vinyl is housed in a generic new white inner to protect the fragile inner sleeve
The album was recorded at Trident Studios, London, 9 July 1971 - 4 February 1972 using material from the sessions for the previous album 'Hunky Dory' ('It Ain't Easy', July 9, 1971), all other tracks being recorded between November 8, 1971 and February 4, 1972.
First UK issue. Includes printed lyrics and pics on inner sleeve. Identifying features include Titanic Music publishing credit on label and no Mainman logo on the back of the sleeve or label. Later issues have a Mainman publishing credit instead of Titanic and include a Mainman logo on the rear of the sleeve.
First and second cat# on cover and label, third on inner sleeve.
