 Featured artists include Green River (Mark and Stone from Pearl Jam), The Melvins, Soundgarden, Malfunkshun (Andy from Mother Love Bone), The U-Men and Skin Yard (Jack Endino's band).Compilation of early Grunge bands, though, not known as 'Grunge' at the time but called or known as the 'Seattle Sound'.  Produced by Chris Hanzsek and Tina Casale (C/Z Records founders) - this disc appeared prior to the birth of Sub-Pop and is widely recognized as a major milestone in rock history. This album re-appeared as a CD only release in the nineties on A & M Records but was never re-pressed in vinyl. Released in March of 1986 it marked the first release for C/Z Records. It was released several months before the famed Sub Pop 100, another compilation with generally the same ethos- exposing bands that weren't really heard of but should have been heard of. The Sub Pop Compilation was limited to a 5,000 run press and thus was quickly gobbled up by collectors.  The Deep Six compilation was, and still is, more available.
The importance of these compilations proved invaluable for the 'Seattle Sound' that was later to be known as Grunge.

Things to note, some useful and some not. I am thinning my record racks a bit to make room for more records so all these come from my personal collection. Just to let you know I have been collecting records for at least ten years but it has been in the last five or so years that I have really taken it seriously. By that I mean investing time and money into making sure that my records are stored safe and properly. Nice sturdy heavy wooden racks, V.R.P. (Valuable Record Protector) anti-static inner sleeves, clean outer plastics (always!) umm, you know all that stuff, making sure to avoid ring wear etc etc..
