Description

This is an ORGINAL 1958 MONO PRESSING ON RCA’s SILVER LOGO AND PRINT LONG PLAY LABEL. This is a Rockaway pressing 7s/10s. The disc was packaged in the RARE 21-112-1 Pt. 22c INNER SLEEVE ADVERTISING THE “NEW” STEREOPHONIC MEDIUM, PLUS ELVIS’ GOLD RECORDS VOL. 2 IS SHOWN AS ONE OF 16 LPs ADVERTISED.

The cover is VG+. The front cover boasts great and consistent colors with a very clean and fresh slick. This is still a very solid cover, with straight & firm corners. The white along all edges look fantastic, which is rare with these early pressings. The spine in particular is AMAZING, WITH ALL PRINT LOOKING STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL (SEE PICS). Only the top edge has some wear, heavy in parts, and obstructs the top edge Artist/Title/Serial Number print (SEE PICS). The back cover shows light foxing in parts and only minimal wear on the pictures. All song titles, credits, and liner notes look great.

The disc is VG++. The gloss is VERY NICE, and the black lacquer is of a deep. heavy texture. There are only a few scattered marks, mostly hairline that can be seen only under a strong light. Only one other paper scuff on Side 1 is more noticeable. The labels are very nice, with only a few light spindle marks.

Sonically the disc is VG+++. There is only the lightest of surface noise, with great fidelity on the highs, along with great separation for a MONO press.
