Dr STRANGELY STRANGE - KIP OF THE SERENES Incredibly Rare true first press on the pink "eye" Island label, sold in very small numbers on this press run and very few copies remain. ILPS 9106 A//1 11 and 1 at 12 O'clock B//1 11 and 1 at 11 O'clock Matt sleeve Condition
Visual, Side 1 - There are a few light surface marks and a few slightly more noticeable ones, none though are "feelable", VG. The label has some very light age spotting and marking (only noticeable when viewed at an angle to the light), VG. Visual, Side 2 - Again, there are just a few light surface marks but only one or two slightly more noticeable ones, quite small, again not "feelable", VG / EX. Similarly, the label has some very light age spotting and marking (only noticeable when viewed at an angle to the light), VG. Audio, Side 1 - The whole side plays extremely well, as you would expect from the deep cut first pressed grooves - just some very light crackle here and there and occasional very light dusty click or pop, EX. Audio, Side 2 - Very similar to the first side with minimal surface noise and superb sound reproduction. There is only one slightly heavier "tick" which is just into the fourth track. Again just ocassional light crackle and the odd light clicks or pops - very minimal, EX. The matt sleeve is in surprisingly decent condition given the nature of the finish and the years of storage that ensued. There is some minor light creasing to the front and rear of the sleeve, top and bottom edges have minimal wear but the spine has more noticeable wear but the writing is still legible. There is a number penned on the inside of the rear cover, obviously unnoticeable being on the inner surface. The opening is clean and unfeathered, there are no stains, marks, writing, tears, splits or indeed any real negatives, all round G / VG. The record comes in poly lined "R.S 11 -69" inner. A very decent and incredibly rare piece of psych / folk history.
records are played from start to finish and I will always try to grade as accurately as possible ** I also use the Record Collector's Grading system which is as below: MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
