Description

Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE & ARTIST: "Take the A Train/Sidewalks of New York" - by Duke Ellington and His Famous Orchestra on the RCA Victor Record label (27380), in beautiful original monophonic sound, issue date unknown.
CONDITION: SLEEVE - N/A; RECORD - VG++(RCA Victor 78 rpm record has very light wear; plays beautifully - visually graded under special daylight balanced spotlight; played on my 78 player).
SPECIAL FEATURES: There is one special feature for this record that surpasses all others: THIS RECORD IS SIGNED BY DUKE ELLINGTON. He has written "To Pauline Brill Duke Ellington" in white pen on the label. Although a bit of the white ink has rubbed off through the years, Duke's signature is still very visible as it is pressed into the label. This is a treasure, made even more special by the signature on the label of what is arguably Ellington's most famous tune.
TRACKS: Take the A Train/Sidewalks of New York.

THANKS! If you have further questions about condition or content, please don't hesitate to ask. You may bid with unworried confidence. Our sales history is your assurance of absolute integrity. Thank you and good luck.
OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any LP and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the vinyl has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction; jacket may be lightly worn, slightly dinged, even very lightly split, but NEVER trashed); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
