Description

An original 1st press of DORY on UK RCA. Matrix 3T/3T. Etchings Bobil/Rasputin - this is what marks it out as genuine 1st press. Note - some of the very earliest copies can be found with laminated cover...this example is unlaminated. These early copies are very heavy pressed and sound fab. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover WITHOUT reference to MainMan [i.e. a 1st issue]. The original lyric insert is there too.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) A great looking copy and has only seen relatively light use. A few very light trace marks per side nothing heavy or nasty looking at all. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT of playback with a couple of deviations per side. Nice quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. I noticed a couple of isolated clicks early in Changes. Eight Line Poem [the fussy number] is playing pretty clean with only the occasional light crackle..ie. a good deal better than what typically surfaces. The ambience of the track is very much intact. A couple of ticks as Quicksand starts, and one solitary click later - which otherwise plays absolutely clean as a whistle. Amazing. This record is not perfect, but by and large not far short of a really very impressive rendition. Just occasional slightest evidence of use...e.g. a few crackles in one moment per side. Bewlay Brths plays nice and clean on this very fussy track, but has four ticks/clicks one third of the way through. Usually this track often plays with background - so nice to hear it pretty clean. Overall a very impressive player on this collectable early Bowie classic..
Cover (Vg+) Front and rear are tidy with less wear than you typically tend to find. A one inch wear-through at the top..it has been repaired internally and is consequently just a relatively minor cosmetic issue. Light ageing on the rear - but pretty tidy really. Less edge wear than you typically find. Spine is 90% intact which is quite unusual. Overall the cover still retains verygood rigidity.
Insert (Vg+) Lightest ageing. Couple of foxing spots.
