Holland / Dutch Original 1969 ’Space Oddity” b/w " Wide Eyed Boy From Free Cloud " Blue Label PHILIPS with silver text. Catalogue ref : 704 201 1W2     704 201 2W1
notes :                         Vinyl Visual Grading :  VG+ Side 1 (Space Oddity)      VG  Side 2 (Wide Eyed Boy with the rarer Bowie Spoken Intro :   1969 matrix , centre removed. Labels EX ; note the fuller PHILIPS label text which was soon to be changed by Philips 1970 approx. Visual GOOD+ ( to VG- )   David Bowie Picture Sleeve has wear as shown in the photos & glue residue where the paper sleeve seam is not fully stuck down.  This appears to have been re stuck with too little adhesive in recent years. Simple to rectify but that is the choice of the buyer I have only stored and protected both the. 7’' vinyl and picture sleeve to prevent any additional damage.  As a huge fan of the David Bowie Space Oddity 7’’ original issues in Europe and beyond,  & as a collector -  this copy visually looks deceptively good and has been a very welcome addition to my collection in its time.  Note*** the vinyl looks better than it is *** on very close inspection under a bright light diagonal lines are visible along with scuffs and wear which would partly explain the poor audio especially for the first half of Wide Eyed Boy From Free Cloud. The 'Space Oddit’ side of the vinyl plays a very solid VG and imbo is a very good listenable experience and is not a nightmare as my notes may suggest. Note : shows wear commensurate with age of item   ring wear to front & back sleeve - brown mark top left front of picture sleeve which remains  visually acceptable to me but may not suit everyone. If you desire mint - or Excellent this copy is NOT for you. But for those on a tighter budget it may well be a good addition to their collection until something better comes along. Side A ‘Space Oddity’ some light crackle at times but not overpowering. A solid VG as stated Side B ‘Wild Eyed Boy From Free Cloud ( typo error ? ) some loud crackle for first half of song approx. then very good audio and more light crackle on the outro .  A Good Introductory or back up copy at a reasonable price & pressed by Philips of Holland in 1969  Good condition copy at a reasonable price.
