Description

An original 1st issue of Ziggy Stardust on UK RCA from summer 1972. Matrix 1E/2E. The labels are consistent with 1st issue as they still retain the 'Titanic' publishing credits which were phased out immediately after the initial chart success in favour of 'Mainman'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace cover. Please note that 1st issue covers, like this one, do not make reference to 'Mainman' on the rear. Also included is the original lyric inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In astonishing condition and has seen only the lightest careful use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. This is possibly the best copy I've auditioned - period. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. These early RCA copies are an absolute treat to behold and when you find a well preserved copy the audio is quite frankly out-of-this-world. All we could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments - i.e. practically nothing. Even those slow build moments at the start of the songs play very clean. Definitely the cleanest I've auditioned - FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex+) Super-difficult to find in great condition, but this example defies all the odds. Stunning condition and very very unusual to find without surface wear at all. The front is perfectly flat and clean with only superlight handling...the best I've ever laid eyes on. The rear is in similar condition with almost no evidence of use at all. Edge wear is very very light, which for this title, is extremely unusual. The spine is 100% intact and I can assure that is seriously difficult to find. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and still lies totally flat. A top level example - the best I've witnessed.
Inner (Vg+) Bit of light ageing and creasing - but no major issues or splits.
