Description

An original 1st press of Ziggy Stardust on UK RCA from summer 1972. Matrix 1E/1E [very 1st cut]. The labels are consistent with 1st press as they still retain the 'Titanic' publishing credits which were phased out immediately after the initial chart success in favour of 'Mainman'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace cover. Please note that 1st issue covers, like this one, do not make reference to 'Mainman' on the rear. Also included is the original lyric inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) Remains in great condition despite having seen a moderate level of use. Do expect to see a number of light marks either side - nothing deep or troublesome, but they are visible all the same. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with very good clarity. Do expect a touch of light static in one or two tracks. And then perhaps a few crackles here and there - but nothing invasive. Be re-assured this Lp is fully tested and still plays back to a very good/enjoyable standard.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. These original Stardust covers often surface looking quite dishevelled. This example is well above average with a nice clean front and back exhibiting only some light surface wear. Edge wear is very light for this title. The spine is 100% intact and this is quite unusual for this title. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and still lies nice and flat.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. One inch bottom edge split. A brown stain down in one corner.
