This record is as shown as found with other
records in early record case as shown (the
latter not for sale).
The song on offer is by GEO. W. JOHNSON
and is entitled "LAUGHING SONG" - recorded
apparently on January 18, 1896 - as is
inscribed.
Wear as shown. ONE SIDED RECORD.
No cracks. We have not played this
record. Note inherent uneveness of recorded
surface. NO WARPAGE. Some scratches
evident. "Tan" blotch in outer groove area
appears under 10x magnification to have
surface material chipped away and clear
loss of a "record groove" the width of 9-10
grooves - which may cause a phono
needle to skip. SOLD "AS-IS."
Extremely early example of a "E. BERLINER'S
GRAMOPHONE" record - made in AMERICA.
Earliest patent date is "Nov. 8, 1887."
