Description
"Face the Music" is the fifth studio album by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). It was released in September 1975 by United Artists Records in the US and on 14 November 1975 in the United Kingdom on the Jet Records label. The album moves away from the large-scale classical orchestrated sound from the previous album, "Eldorado", in favor of more "radio-friendly" rock/pop songs, though the string sections are still very prominent. The sound proved successful for the group as "Face the Music" was the first ELO album to go platinum. By January 1975, bass player Mike de Albuquerque and cellist Mike Edwards had left the band entirely during the "Eldorado's" recording sessions and subsequent tour, respectively. Bass player Kelly Groucutt and classically trained cellist Melvyn Gale both joined the band in full as their replacements. The new lineup for this album became a stabilized and iconic one for the band's next five years and has been called by ELO fans the "classic line-up". This is the ORIGINAL 1975 US Vinyl Pressing on the United Artists Record label. The catalog # on the spine is: PZ 35527. The bar code matrix # is: 0 7464-35527-1. Record has been visually graded by Goldmine standards as Near Mint. The cover is also graded as Near Mint and STILL HAS SHRINK-WRAP ON THE COVER.
