LP is in Near Mint condition.
The thick lustrous vinyl is nearly flawless, without scuffs,or scratches of any kind.There a few small but inaudible sleeve marks.
The fidelity is superb,with no distortion, pops, clicks,or background noise of any kind.


Jacket is in EX+ condition. Original jacket is in nice condtion There are virtually no marks, or writing of any kind.There is light shelf wear, as in image.This lp is stored in the original inner sleeve. Elmo Hope was a contemporary and friend of both Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk, and on their level as both a pianist and a composer. Although he did not get a great deal of recognition during his relatively brief lifetime (1923-67), Hope's music still sounds fresh, colorful and highly original today. Well trained in classical music, Hope switched careers and in 1948 was playing with Joe Morris' r&b/ jump band. By the early 1950s Hope was active in the modern jazz scene and was already a mature voice both as a player and a writer. The rare ten-inch Lp Elmo Hope Trio from 1953 was his debut as a leader. Hope introduces such exciting originals as "Carvin' The Rock," "Mo Is On" and "Happy Hour," performing a fresh and colorful repertoire that shows that there is much more to bebop than the songs of Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk. He deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence with the more famous bebop greats.
