GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : a mio avviso una gemma preziosa di musica psichedelica. Se Morricone già aveva dato ampie prove nell'utilizzare questo genere sonoro, basti pensare a La Stagione dei Sensi e a Vergogna Schifosi dell'anno precedente, qui amalgama bene le sue esperienze psichedeliche recenti con la musica sperimentale e d'avanguardia che proprio in quel tempo stava sviluppando insieme a Bruno Nicolai nella serie di sonorizzazioni per la RCA: Dimensioni  sonore - Musiche per l'Immagine e l'Immaginazione. Minor impatto esteriore nelle musicalità che in quest'album ci propone ma un ascolto attento ci fa capire come sia eccelsa la sua arte compositiva. In poche parole: musica psichedelica e sonorità per l'immaginazione. Suoni sfuggenti, eterei, che appaiono e scompaiono in pochi istanti, il sofisticato uso delle percussioni che introducono solitamente delle musicalità di maggiore intensità come le tante distorsioni sonore non solo nella chitarra ma anche negli strumenti ad arco con note stridule e taglienti, quasi rantolanti. E per chi vuole ballare niente di meglio di "Svolta Definitiva" (a6) con un indiavolato ritmo condotto dalle chitarra elettrica e le sue distorsioni ben supportata dal basso e la batteria e il coinvolgimento dell'organo Hammond dalle belle improvvisazioni: grande rock psichedelico!

Notes : in my opinion a precious gem of psychedelic music. If Morricone had already given ample evidence in using this genre, just think of La Stagione dei Sensi and Vergogna Schifosi of the previous year, here well merges his recent psychedelic experiences with experimental and avant-garde music which at that time he was developing with Bruno Nicolai in the RCA library series Dimensioni  sonore - Musiche per l'Immagine e l'Immaginazione. A minor external impact in the musicality that this album gives us but an attentive listening makes us understand how it is lofty his compositional art. In a nutshell: psychedelic music and sonorities for the imagination. Elusive, ethereal sonorities that appear and disappear in a few moments, the sophisticated use of percussion instruments which usually introduce a musicality of greater intensity as the many sound distortions not only from the guitar but also from the string instruments with shrill and sharp notes, almost gasping. And for those who want to dance any better than "Svolta Definitiva" (a6) with a frenzied rhythm led by the electric guitar and its distortions well supported by bass and drums, and the involvement of the Hammond organ with beautiful improvisations. Great psychedelic rock!
