Description
Eric Dolphy - Out To Lunch - a 1966 1st Stereo repress using the original 1964 metalwork bearing Rudy Van Gelder's name in the run-out grooves ( see photos) Catalogue no. BST 84163 on the blue/white Blue Note Liberty Records Inc. label.
Degritter cleaned, the vinyl has come up spotlessly clean & retains an excellent glossy lustre & almost no visible marks. The vinyl sits flat on the turntable with clean labels & spindle holes - graded EX.
Playtest reveals a clear and immersive " in the room " sound, very detailed & dynamic, with huge depth and projection. There is occasional low noise in a few parts, mostly between tracks, and at the start of S1 but this quickly settles. The vinyl plays through as it should with no jumping, skating or sticking.
The outer sleeve is still really clean and solid with no splits. Some mild creasing & shelfwear to both top & bottom seams with a lovely readable spine. NYC & a date has been written on the rear otherwise no writing, stains, tears or tape. A solid VG+, close to EX.
The record will be supplied in a brand new poly lined inner sleeve.
The record will be sent separated out in an archival outer sleeve to prevent transit splits.
A rare opportunity for a collector to own an original copy in excellent condition of an iconic album.
