1957 UK 1st PRESSING LP
**RARE EXCELLENT COPY**
This superb 1957 UK 1st pressing is on the UK maroon & gold HMV label: CLP 1105
The 'XT' price/tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.
Housed in a fully laminated 'WRW' printed, 'half-moon' flipback cover.
Complete with original white poly-lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: G2-WP-7207-2N & G2-WP-7208-1N
Stamper numbers: 1,2/L & 1/GD
Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS
This fine copy has been rarely & carefully played and both surfaces retain their deep gloss shines completely undulled by overplay or incorrect storage.
Viewed in strong daylight there is just a single 1 cm light scuff is visible on side 1. Elsewhere there are absolutely no other marks or any scratches.
Close inspection directly under a powerful halogen desk lamp incredibly reveals nothing more than some wispy sleeve removal hairlines.
Thick, quality vinyl which lies 100% flat both sides on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT MINUS
Clearly not overplayed, all tracks play without any significant audible wear.
Apart from some minimal groovewear on the 2 quieter songs & a 3 revolution light click on 'Love Me', there is little to fault.
Played at volume, some minor background noise is audible between tracks, but there are no other sounding marks, jumps, repeats or other audible faults.
Tough to find another copy in this shape.
Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS
A fine, unrestored example of this fragile cover which retains an intact front laminate with just minor laminate lift towards the top edge & spine.
The upper-right corner has a small (1cm) tear along its top edge, but the others display just light storagewear & no major faults.
The front opening edge is untorn & bears just a touch of light wear. The rear edge has 2 tiny (5mm) tears but is otherwise undamaged.
The rear panel is clean & white with no discolouration, marks, writing or tears.
Both 'half-moon' flipbacks are in place & intact but have some small areas of missing/flaking laminate.
There is a small (1cm) stress split to the spine laminate but both seams are intact with no stresses or splits.
All discs are carefully play graded in their entirety on a Rega P9 deck with an Ortofon Kontrapunkt 'A' cartridge.
