Description
Elvis Elvis Presley SPD-23 1956 SUPER LIMITED 3 EP Set
Catalog Number: SPD-23
Year of Issue: 1956
Original family ownership since 1956, this is a super nice original SPD-23. This EP was only available for short period of time and could only be obtained if you purchased the deluxe Elvis Presley Record Player. Not many of these were pressed and even less available all of these decades later.History of this extraordinary find: 7X7" Cardboard Triple Gatefold cover contains three record 45 RPM set of RCA VICTOR label. In 1956, RCA marketed two different models of an Elvis Presley Victrola Record Player. Buyers of the $32.95 model were given the EP SPD-22, while the bonus for buyers of the higher priced $47.95 model were given the even more rare and desirable EP SPD-23. In other words, this cover and discs were only given away when you bought the highest end victrola player for what was then a lot of money, because only a handful of people could afford the high end victrola. In time, it made this one of the rarest Elvis records/cover in existence on any label.
