EurOpop Festival Flyer. Pink Floyd. !!Mega RARE!!
EurOpop Open Air Festival, Aachen, 10-12 July 1970!!
Unusual A3 size 4 page newsprint flyer/ pre-event programme for Germany's first open air festival.
The amazing line-up included Deep Purple, Taste, Hardin & York, Free, Golden Earring, Caravan, Livin' Blues, Keef Hartley, Kevin Ayers, Jeronimo, If, Rhinoceros, Edgar Broughton Band, Quintessence, Amon Dull II, Fat Matress, Organisation, Champion Jack Dupree, Tyrannosaurus Rex and headliners PINK FLOYD!
The inside is given over to details of the site along with a map and features Keef Harley, Fat Mattress and Pink Floyd. The rear carries details for booking tickets and their prices along with the full line-up. At the top of the rear page there's an image of John & Yoko with "kommen!!" stating they were coming below and next to that an image of Mick Jagger with "Rolling Stones verhadeln mit uns" saying The Rolling Stones were negotiating to appear. Clearly the organisers were hoping for both John & Yoko and the Stones to turn up but neither did.
This has been in a crate for years. I've never seen another one or know of anyone who has. I think this is probably one of the rarest bits of ephemera we've ever had.
Condition: The newsprint has discoloured but isn't too bad. There are pin-holes on all four corners where it's been hung open on a wall. The paper has been folded and on there is a 1 inch tear along the foldline to the outer edge (right side of front and left side of rear) and a nick into the fold at spine side. There is also some wear along the rear horizontal fold and running up from that to the top edge.
