FATHER YOD AND THE SPIRIT OF '76 - E PLURIBUS UNUM MADE BY THE ONE,FOR THE ALL.1974 ON HIGHERKEY RECORDS.FATHER YOD WAS THE OWNER OF ONE OF THE FIRST HEALTH FOOD RESTAURANTS IN THE COUNTRY CALLED SOURCE.HE FOUNDED A SPIRITUAL COMMUNE IN THE HOLLYWOOD HILLS KNOWN AS THE SOURCE FAMILY.THEY LIVED IN A MANSION IN THE HOLLYWOOD HILLS WHICH WAS PAID FOR BY THE SOURCE RESTAURANT WHICH AT ITS HEIGHT WAS GROSSING $10,000 A DAY AND WHO'S CUSTOMERS INCLUDED JOHN LENNON,AND MARLON BRANDO.HE WAS ALSO A SINGER AND SPIRITUAL FATHER OF THE SOURCE FAMILY.Music was an integral part of the Source Family and many members were musicians. Father Yod formed them into an improvising psychedELIC rock band called YaHoWha 13, and was himself its a lead singer. In 1973 the band began making limited pressings of their jam sessIONS, eventually releasing nine albums that were sold at the Source Restaurant for ten dollars each. The original recordings have become valuable to collectors of underground music.
