ZOZOI / MERRY MERRY O ! ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by FRANCE GALL music by CESAR CAMARGO MARIANO with ORCHESTRA JEAN-CLAUDE PETIT and backing voices by DES ELEPHANTS de JEAN-CLAUDE PETIT (aka JOSE BARTEL / NORBERT SAADA / RAYMOND VASTANO / JEAN GERAL and JEAN-CLAUDE PETIT). Original French pressing on the LA COMPAGNIE label (S 031), from 1970. "Qu'est-ce que c'est ?" indeed... Absolutely killer samba funk grail featuring the seductive adolescent voice of the cult, French yeye / mod girl singer. The ultra-infectious ZOZOI theme is one of the best and funkiest of the genre. Incredible piano trio sounds with funky drums skills by the hottest players on the Brazilian jazz scene backed by Petit's psychedelic orchestra and dream-team, male chorus. Great for DJs. Booming production and a big record with certain Japanese collectors ;) The original backing track of ZOZOI was recorded in Sao-Paulo Brazil with France's super-sexy vocals, over dubbed in Paris. Musically, the ZOZOI theme is similar to Les Masques Brasilian Sound Lp with Trio Camara backing. The MERRY MERRY O ! side is cute and seasonal (Christmas inspired) lounge with un-credited female backing singers. Tres chic artwork sleeve showing a stoned / bleached blonde Mademoiselle Gall too. Nice copy for an item that is usually always trashed. Very rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG+ condition (closer to VG++ overall) with some hairlines and a few faint scuffs (mostly to "Merry Merry O" side). Booming production sound. Some light surface noises. The card picture sleeve is in VG+ condition overall with ring wear / ring dirt marks / corner and edge wear. Impossible to find mint. Very rare 45!!!

Please feel free to contact us with any condition queries you may have preferably before bidding. We will get back to you asap.
