Description

One of the great artistic collaborations of 20th century popular music - Fred Astaire sings and tap dances to the piano accompaniment and shouted encouragements from George Gershwin in London in 1926! Fred & Adele Astaire were the stars of the new Gershwin Musical Comedy 'Lady Be Good' and George Gershwin came over for the rehearsals and opening, and made a few recordings with the Astaires, among the earliest English electrical recordings. Fred sings and dances 'The Half Of It Dearie Blues' and Adele joins him on 'Fascinating Rhythm' with superb Gershwin accompaniments. They are on Columbia 3969, the only issue, never released in the USA. CONDITION: A gorgeous E+ copy, seldom seen in this shape!
