Description

UK FIRST PRESSING PINK ISLAND LABEL VINYL LP IN EJ DAY GATEFOLD SLEEVE. Increasingly hard to come by in decent condition, this copy is a worthy addition to any collection, and a superb album as well, the matrix numbers indicate a true very first UK pressing from the original USA mastered tapes (early Free and Cat Stevens LPs were mastered on the West Coast in the USA and released with similar stamper/mother numbers as the A&M brown label issues, they sound almost identical, the only variation is in the quality of the actual vinyl to our ears, the pink Island's having the edge in that department.)

MATRIX NUMBERS IN RUN-OFF GROOVES: SIDE A: BELL SOUND SF ? SP#4307-1 1A / SIDE B: BELL SOUND SF ? ? SP #4308-1 1B.

SLEEVE: VERY GOOD/EXCELLENT MINUS, SOME SHELF AND EDGE WEAR, THIS NOTORIOUSLY FRAGILE MATTE CARD SLEEVE IS FREQUENTLY RATHER WORN LOOKING, THIS IS A VERY DECENT SLEEVE WITH A PEN NAME ON THE REAR AND AGEING BUT ASIDE FROM SOME CORNER BUMPS SHOULD SATISFY ALL BUT A PERFECTIONIST.

DISC: EXCELLENT. VERY CLEAN VINYL WITH NO MARKS OR SCRATCHES AND BARELY ANY SPINDLE WEAR, IT HAS NOT BEEN PLAYED VERY MUCH AND SOUNDS THAT WAY WITH NO SKIPS OR JUMPS, JUST THE SMALLEST AMOUNT OF STATIC IN THE OCCASSIONAL PLACE (THESE EARLY PINK ISLAND VINYLS ARE NEVER, REPEAT NEVER - WE HAVE NEVER HEARD ONE YET - ABSOLUTELY SILENT, BUT THE CLEANER YOU KEEP THEM AND THE BETTER YOUR STYLUS THE BETTER THEY SOUND, THEY HAVE THAT 8-TRACK 'TUBEY' MAGICAL SOUND NOTHING ELSE COMES NEAR. JUST THE LIGHTEST OF WHISPY HAIRLINES FROM USE, AND LIVELY CLEAN LABELS BOTH SIDES, OUR PHOTOS DO NOT CAPTURE THE RICH PINKNESS OF THEM TO BE HONEST. IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH A JUST UNDER NEAR MINT COPY THEN THIS SHOULD SATISFY ALL BUT A PERFECTIONIST - THEY DON'T COME UP OFTEN IN DECENT CONDITION, SO DON'T LET THIS ONE PASS YOU BY, YOU CAN ALWAYS BUY GROCERIES NEXT WEEK AND LIVE OUT OF TINS THIS WEEK...
