Cover - VG+ Promo cut on the cover and three hype stickers. Gold promo stamp on the back, numbered S 592787. Original inner sleeve included.
Vinyl - NM Super clean with no marks and no scuffs.
1989 US white label promo on Elektra, 60883-1, with Promotional Copy Not For Sale printed on both labels. The back cover carries the numbered gold stamp reading Lent For Promotional Use Only, Any Sale Or Unauthorized Transfer Is Prohibited And Void, Subject To Return Upon Demand By Owner. That stamp and its number are what separate a real radio promo from a stock copy, and this one still has all three hype stickers on the front.
Produced by John Jansen, recorded at Cherokee Studios, Crystal Studios and Sunset Sound Factory in Los Angeles, mixed at The House Of Music in West Orange, New Jersey, and mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound. Taime Downe on vocals, Greg Steele and Brent Muscat on guitars, Eric Stacy on bass, Mark Michals on drums. The second album, where House Of Pain and Poison Ivy sit alongside the sleazier Sunset Strip material the band built its name on.
Vinyl Piper Grading Scale
Records are graded conservatively by eye under good light. The sleeve and the vinyl are graded separately, and any notable flaws are called out above.
- SEALED: Jacket sealed shut in shrink wrap; disc sold ungraded or “as is.”
- NM (Near Mint): Appears unplayed and bears no marks, sleeve scuffs, or scratches. This grade is seldom used.
- VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus): May have one or two visible imperfections (e.g., sleeve scuffs, faint scratches, or other superficial marks) that will not affect play.
- VG+ (Very Good Plus): A few visible imperfections, which may include sleeve scuffs, light scratches, or other superficial marks.
- VG (Very Good): Similar imperfections as VG+, but in slightly greater numbers. Records graded VG and above typically won’t have scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.
- VG- (Very Good Minus): A number of visible imperfections, including a considerable number of light scratches. Significant isolated defects, such as scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail, will result in a VG- grade.
- G (Good): Pervasive imperfections of varying degrees, including both light scratches and scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail. G+ and G- indicate stronger and weaker copies within this range.
