GENESIS A Trick Of The Tail. Charisma CDS 4001. Released 1976.
Here we have a nice complete original UK 1st pressing of this LP. It comes complete with it’s very first “soft” textured sleeve made by Bruin BV with 37 Soho square address for Charisma Records. The LP also has A1 B1 Matrix with “All Tracks Copyright Control” on the labels rather than the later “Fuse Music” credits. It is complete with it’s custom picture card inner sleeve.
Grading: -
Outer Sleeve: VG+
A respectable, and well above average copy of this difficult outer sleeve. Whilst there are no major faults it displays some general signs of wear mainly in the form of slight discolouration in a few isolated areas on the sleeve surfaces. Other that that it’s a decent copy which has largely stood the test of time.
Vinyl: EX
The record retains its deep black gloss shine. When viewed under bright halogen light there is a light amount of odd hairlines and cosmetic wear. There is nothing deep or overly serious and this LP represents one of the higher condition copies still in existence. It’s a very nice copy.
Vinyl Audio: EX
The playback delivered a really clear and dynamic audio signal with just a little in the way of occasional background noise, mainly in some of the quieter sections. Whilst not it’s not dead silent, this record did deliver a highly pleasant listening experience overall and it is a super copy.

Clean with no writing or other notable damage. A very slight trace of 1-2 spindle marks can be seen when the LP is held to bright halogen light.
Custom Inner Card Sleeve: EX-
The custom inner sleeve is generally clean, uncreased and unsplit. One edge has darkened slightly for some reason and there are 1 or 2 small light brown marks, but overall, this is still a nice condition inner and the lack of any real creasing alone is notable for this inner.
Overall, this is a really nice example of a true and complete First UK pressing of this LP.

Postage and Packing:
All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping. Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers. My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
