Description

7″/45rpm

GENESIS: Carpet Crawl (The Carpet Crawlers) Italian release with unique picture sleeve. This is beautiful copy in pretty much near mint condition! A-side looks unplayed, though there are one or two very faint hairline marks, which were probably made when the record was handled; B-side looks great, though I'd say it has been played maybe once or twice, I've graded the A-side NM (near mint) and the B-side is EX+. Needless to say the labels are spotless on both sides with no visible evidence of wear to the centre-hole. I've graded the sleeve as EX, it's borderline EX/EX+ with minimal wear along the top and to the right (opening side) and minor evidence of fading; it's close to neat mint - clean with sharp edges, but EX+ is about right and I seriously don't think you could find a single with a better sleeve. I can provide more photos if required.

NB: I am a private collector and have been collecting vinyl records – on and off, for well over 40 years, but now I really need the space, hence the reason for these listings! Media (record) graded first — visually under LED lighting, followed by the sleeve.

  • Media Condition: NM (A-side) / EX+ (B-side)

  • Sleeve Condition: EX/EX+

Grading system
I use the standard grading system introduced by Record Collector to determine the condition of the records I am selling, with either a + or – added where necessary to provide a wider selection of grades for greater accuracy.

  • Mint (M)
The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

  • Excellent (EX)
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

  • Very Good (VG)
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

  • Good (G)
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

  • Fair (F)
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

  • Poor (P)
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

  • Bad (B)
The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection-filler.
