Description

GENTLE GIANT - THREE FRIENDS

A superb condition copy of this 1972 UK 1st press prog gem with brilliant sound quality throughout

Year/Label :  UK VERTIGO Swirl 1972

Label number :  6360 070

Matrix numbers :  6360070  1Y//2 420   /   6360070  2Y//2 420

Stampers :  1 1 8  04  /  1 1 9  04

Increasingly rare and sought after 1972 UK 1st press prog gem in overall truly wonderful condition.  Excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - many would grade as "near mint", I am sure - gleaming, jet black sheen and earliest 1Y/2, 2Y/2 pressing and difficult to identify any marks whatsoever, even with close inspection under a bright light. Clearly this is a record that has been only sparingly played - the crisp, clean near mint (NM) condition of the labels further supports this view with just a couple of small and extremely faint spindle trails in evidence on the side 2 label, otherwise perfect.  The non-laminated gatefold sleeve remains in beautiful excellent plus (EX+) condition with firm, largely unscuffed edges, near perfectly defined right angled corners, and no creasing, unwanted writing, or colour fading...just a couple of very light small storage marks and some very light, minor intermittent scuffing on the bottom edges. The interior of the gatefold is near perfect and all colours, art work and text remain crisp, clean, and superbly defined still. The quality of the stereo audio is superb with no clicks or background crackle/interference whatsoever - simply great tone and crystal clear instrumentation and vocals throughout with every track a great listen. Comes complete with near perfect condition poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve with no side splits, tears, edge fraying or age discolouration.

It's not often you come across one of these UK 1st pressings in as truly wonderful condition as this - a welcome addition to any serious progressive rock vinyl collection.

POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £5 using Royal Mail 1st class, signed for;

for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for,

and for the rest of the world £20 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
