Without a doubt, Harrison's first solo recording, originally issued as a triple album, is his best. Drawing on his backlog of unused compositions from the late Beatles era, Harrison crafted material that managed the rare feat of conveying spiritual mysticism without sacrificing his gifts for melody and grand, sweeping arrangements. Enhanced by Phil Spector's lush orchestral production, and Harrison's own superb slide guitar, nearly every song is excellent: "Awaiting on You All," "Beware of Darkness," the Dylan collaboration "I'd Have You Anytime," "Isn't It a Pity," and the hit singles "My Sweet Lord" and "What Is Life" are just a few of the highlights. A very moving work, with a very significant flaw: the jams that comprise the final third of the album are entirely dispensable, and have probably only been played once or twice by most of the listeners that own this record.

THE RECORDS

 (IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)         WE GRADE THE VINYL AS NEAR MINT. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)         The album comes with the original poster still intact (and in absolutely GORGEOUS condition).

(c)         The records come in their original, color-coded custom, inner sleeves, which are UNIQUE to this album.

(d)         The records are pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(e)         Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

COVER (BOX)

THE BOX IS  NICE - ABOUT EXCELLNT OR VERY GOOD ++

AN IMPORANT NOTE ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THE BOX:  WHILE GRADING THE ALBUM, WE SUFFERED A MAJOR SETBACK: WE DROPPED THE BOX, CAUSING THE SUPER-SENSITIVE SPINE TO SPLIT ALONG ALMOST THE ENTIRE LENGTH, THUS INSTANTLY DROPPING THE COVER (BOX) GRADE FROM NEAR MINT TO VERY GOOD+. WE THEN DELICATELY REPAIRED THE SPINE WITH A PIECE OF BLACK PACKAGING TAPE WHICH ALMOST PERFECTLY MATCHES AND COMPLEMENTS THE TEXTURE, COLOR AND "FEEL" OF THE BOX, THUS RESTORING THE BOX GRADE TO AS CLOSE TO NEAR MINT AS POSSIBLE. THE REPAIR IS, EVEN BY OUR STANDARDS, INCREDIBLY SUBTLE AND IT IS NOT INCONCEIVABLE THAT THE BUYER WOULD NOT EVEN NOTICE WITHOUT OUR DISCLOSURE. PLEASE NOTE THAT NONE OF THE CORNERS, EITHER ON THE LID (TOP PART) OR THE TRAY (BOTTOM PART) ARE SPLIT OR COMPROMISED.

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-       Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 1.

-       Minor shelf wear noted on the seams (nothing significant)

·      Cover has a partially split spine (between 6 and 8 inches  /15 to 20 centimeters); DELICATELY REPAIRED;  PLEASE SEE THE NOTE ABOVE)
