Enesco Plays Bach Sonatas Georges Enesco ~ Violin Solo Continental CLP 104-106 1950
This is the rarest of all US - made classical record sets! This original 3LP set is the legendary 1948-49 recording of J.S. Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin by the great Romanian virtuoso and teacher, Georges Enesco (George Enescu). 300 copies of this set were made by Continental Records in 1950 for the Romanian Communist Party. These copies did not list 'Continental' or 'Remington' names on the labels, and included sized-down "Made in U.S.A" print. This set comes from my private collection and was given to my uncle by a Romanian engineer who left the country for political reasons. According to my uncle's friend, of the 300 copies distributed in Romania, many sets were given out without velvet boxes in order to avoid been seen as supporting American industry. Whatever the case might be, this set does not come with a box. Beyond the investment value of these 3 LP's, the winning bidder will have the opportunity to own the most amazing interpretation of Bach's Violin Sonatas ever recorded.

CONDITION: Records: Generally VG to VG+ play-graded. Light surface noise throughout with sporadic ticks and pops. Visually, the 3 LP's are shiny with some hairlines.
