Verve V6-8623 - MGM
Recorded “live” at Carnegie Hall on October 9, 1964, GETZ/GILBERTO #2 has been called “the perfect ensemble” album.
Side 1 features Getz with Gary Burton on vibes, Eugene Cherico on bass, and Joe Hunt on drums, playing GRANDFATHER’S WALTZ, TONIGHT I SHALL SLEEP WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE, STAN’S BLUES, and HERE’S THAT RAINY DAY (magnificent!).
Side 2 gives us Joao Gilberto, with Keeter Betts on bass, and Helcio Milito on drums, playing SAMBA DE MINHA TERRA, ROSA MORENO, UM ABRACO NO BONFA, BIM BOM, MEDITATION, and O PATO.
A Rudy Van Gelder recording, here in the original gatefold cover, which is without fault; record within will play near mint.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
