Description
GIFT s/t rare 1974 Canadian XIAN Rock Pop Psych SSW lp!
1974/Cdn/Christopher CH-108….. here’s a rare lp Xian rock lp from Ontario, Canada. This record was released less than an hour from where I have lived for the last 50 plus years and I seldom see them turn up. The lightly textured gatefold cover is in strong VG++ condition with minor light corner wear and a bit of minor small wear on the back, otherwise solid and clean with no splits or delete. The vinyl is in VG+ to VG++ condition with just a few minor light inaudible sleeve scuffs/scratches, minor light storage staining from the inner sleeve, plays nice with only minor light occasional noise mainly at cue and between the odd track. The labels are clean and show a couple of very light spindle marks. This is a nice copy of this hard to find and recommended record! Please check my auctions for other folk, rock and psych lp's. Good luck and thanks for looking!
Fans of Jim Croce and early James Taylor will find a real treat in this Ontario foursome’s album of gentle acoustic rock with a ’70s singer/songwriter pop edge. Soft keyboards (piano, electric piano, organ), melodic songs, nice harmonization, clean production underscoring acoustic guitar leads. Members include Ray Murphy, Darrell Gillespie, Gary Freeburn, and Tom Marsh. ‘What Can Be Done’, ‘Great Divide’, ‘Would You Like To Be Free’, ‘Walkin’ Down The Street’ and ‘New Born Babes’ are all memorable songs, rich with feeling. Light electric guitar leads on ‘Wealth Of Living’ and ‘It’ll Get Easier’. Top-drawer packaging with watercolor painting on gatefold cover. A real thing of beauty. (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).
GRADING
MINT: I consider New Unplayed or Sealed items only.
M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.
EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.
VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.
VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
