Description

A rare original promotional flyer for the Purple Gang's 1967 single 'Granny Takes a Trip'.

The fabulous artwork was designed by Nigel Waymouth.

The Purple Gang peaked in one of the most important years in contemporary music history, indeed they rubbed shoulders with 1967’s hierarchy.

Originating from the Northern outpost of Stockport they managed to grab the attention of Joe Boyd (he of Pink Floyd, Incredible String Band, Fairport Convention et al fame) and one of 1967’s important scene makers and they were to be heard in the all important 1967 hangout the UFO club.

This is a fascinating document from this artistic period.

The flyer measures 162mm x 120 mm (6.5 inches x 4.5 inches approximately) and is in very good condition.
