GRANT GREEN - I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND
A very nice condition copy, with great sounding audio, of this original 1960's jazz rarity
Year/Label : 1966 US BLUE NOTELabel number : BLP 4202
Matrix numbers : BNLP-4202 : A (etched), "VAN GELDER" (machine stamped) / BNLP-4202 : B (etched), "VAN GELDER" (machine stamped)
Nice thick, weighty and completely flat gleaming vinyl in excellent (EX) condition, retaining a wonderful jet black sheen and only when viewed closely under a bright light do just a couple of extremely faint surface only scuff marks come into view - non-obvious, purely superficial, and not impinging upon the truly excellent audio quality at all. Excellent (EX) condition labels - unmarked except for a few small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each and some minor blue ink "smudging" on the side 2 label. The original non-laminated laminated iconic outer sleeve is in very good plus (VG+) condition - firm edges including a rigid spine where all text remains perfectly legible. There is some sporadic edge scuffing, slightly ,ore pronounced and noticeable on the top edge towards the top left corner, and on the reverse side there is some mild grubbiness/age discolouration towards the edges but all photos and text remain perfectly intact, and the front-side photo remains as iconically beautiful as ever. Note the early pressing horizontal "43 West 61st St., New York 23" text at the bottom of the reverse side. The quality of the audio is excellent (EX) - no clicks, skips, repeats, or jumps and barely any crackle or interference at all - so impressive for a record of this age (though these heavy duty 1960's Blue Note LP records were made to last, and they do!). Wonderful tone and clarity throughout with every track making for a fabulous listen. With Grant Green on guitar, Hank Mobley on tenor sax, Larry Young on organ, and Elvin Jones on drums these are top notch musicians at the top of their game...no wonder this is such a sought after LP.
A truly iconic, jazz "great" LP - an absolute must for any serious jazz vinyl collection. POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £5 using Royal Mail 1st class signed for ;
for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,
and for the rest of the world £21 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
