Description
Here’s an unreleased LP of lost guitar instrumentals by the Ventures’ Gerry McGee, recorded in January of 1964 at Bell Sound Studios in NYC, before he joined the band. Of the twelve tracks, only one of them seems to have been released (“Cajun Guitar” on A&M 771). The others includes some great originals, as well as distinctive cover versions of Jack Nitzsche’s “The Lonely Surfer,” Chuck Berry’s “Memphis” and Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind.” See the first two pics above for the full track list. Condition is a strong VG with great playback throughout, but visible surface wear. The audio linked below comes directly from this copy.
