Description
Ginette Neveu - Sibelius: Violin Concerto + Suk: Four Pieces c1955 LP HMV ALP 1479.
This is a nearly a wonderful example of the LP Sibelius: Violin Concerto + Suk: Four Pieces by Ginette Neveu. It was released on the HMV label in around 1955 – ALP 1479. The first side of the disc has a single TINY scratch. It is exactly six minutes in and the result is an obvious ‘pop’ for five revolutions with a quieter ‘tick’ for the next three revolutions. Other than that single fault the rest of the first side and the entire second side are in wonderful shiny Near Mint condition. This is of course VERY annoying – both for you the collector / listener and for me – the person who would love to be selling a perfect record. As I say – other than that it is in amazing condition – very shiny and hardly touched, let alone played. The labels are perfect with no fading to the gold print. The cover also has an annoying problem. There is some laminate missing on the front in the top right corner and some more is missing towards the right edge where there is also a sort of scuff that just affects the white surface, which I have shown in my picture. The back of the cover is fine. In all it grades around VG+ and the best solution (I think) would be to remove the laminate that is loose on the front as then it would hardly show and not have a piece that is flapping loose. It is impossible to be an expert in all realms of collecting, and I am honestly representing this item to the best of my knowledge and ability. If the item has a fault then I have mentioned it. I ask that you read the description and examine the photos carefully. I also encourage you to ask any questions you may have during the auction to help clarify identification or condition, as I may inadvertently omit information that you as a collector feel is important.
If after you receive the item there is any problem at all please let me know BEFORE leaving feedback or leaving a low Item As Described rating. If you do not let me know of a problem I have no way of knowing what may have been wrong and I really do want to sort it out. My email address is oldvan.ebay@btinternet.com
I am not able to provide scans of paper items and I have no facility to record / copy any records.
Browsing !
Rather than click on the See Other Items link, if you click on either the red Door symbol or the words Oldvan's Shop you will see my auction items and my Buy It Now items split into various categories which will make browsing easier! e.g. 7" single records, LP's, Books, Toys etc etc. You will not have to wade through hundreds of items that you are perhaps not interested in.
CONDITION. The majority of items that I list are between forty and sixty years old. Some are older and some may be a few years younger. I have described the condition of the item in my text but where applicable I have also ticked the 'used' box as even where an item is 'perfect', it is very old and logic says it must have been handled and probably used at some time over the decades!
ALL of my AUCTION ITEMS are now listed with basic / second class postage FREE in the UK.
They are not actually free to post of course! I have to pay to post them but for UK bidders the price you see at the end of the auction is the total price you pay.
DELIVERY TIMES. Although I have ticked the Royal Mail 2nd Class Standard option, please note that this service is reliable and often is unexpectedly fast. Many people in the UK receive their items within 36-48 hours of payment being received.
I have also listed other faster options for UK postage (Recorded Delivery + Special Delivery) and also various options for overseas buyers that are stated when you click on the P&P Tab.
TRACKING NUMBER. If an item sells for more than £35, (or for a package that has a total value of more than £35) it will need to be sent with a Tracking Number - the Royal Mail's International Signed For service. This costs an additional £5 and that price will be added so that both you - the Buyer - and myself are covered under the buyer protection policy.
PACKAGING. Please note that all of my items are well-packed in thick card or in boxes, and then wrapped in good quality brown paper. I do not make any separate charge for packaging materials - everything is included in the final price. Many of my feedback comments mention my good packaging and I will of course continue to meet my own standards.
