Description

Being offered is a 1971 pressing , but not the first pressing. You will see that the log book has a bluish tinge whereas the first issues were black and white and in the run out is etched Rays, this indicates that the lacquer cut is credited to Ray Staff which is later than the first pressings.. Also track A2 does not end with a locked groove.
Nevertheless the condition of everything is very good. You can see that the sleeve is a little rubbed where it has been slid on and off the shelf and a little shelf wear storage rubbed around the edges but in VG plus condition I would say.
The log book is undamaged.
The inner bag should be stamped United Artist so this is not original bag (photo 10).
I have played the album to check the quality and it really does play very well. You can see there is no spindle wear, see photos 7 & 8. It has very little surface wear and so the only thing that concerned me was the scuff on track 1 side 2, see photo 9. However the only evidence when played from that is that for the first 10 seconds there is a very slight crackle as the needle passes over it, but it is also a very quiet section so that draws attention to it. Otherwise no clicks, skips , jumps or anything to diminish your listening pleasure.
It really is remarkable it has lasted so well considering the environment that one would expect an early Hawkwind album to be listened to and kept in.
